Build the right Vegas trip

Choose the shape of the trip before chasing individual deals.

The five decisions that control everything

Set a total trip ceiling, then reserve 15–20% for taxes, fees, tips, and changes.
Select a home zone — which area of the Strip do you want to stay at: South Strip, Center Strip, North Strip, Downtown, or off-Strip.
Anchor one major plan per day. Add flexible meals and free sights around it.
Book lodging first; lock in hard-to-get shows and restaurants only after checking travel time.

A realistic rhythm

Arrival day: explore your hotel zone and keep the evening flexible.
Full days: one daytime anchor, one evening anchor, and a rest window.
Departure day: avoid prepaid plans that end close to airport departure.
Summer: shift outdoor walking to early morning and after sunset; schedule indoor recovery blocks.
